TY students (4A & 4B) planted 475 trees as part of the Stepping Stones Forest Initiative in conjunction with European Tree Planting Day this week. Thank you to the volunteers from the Dodder Action group, who helped in planting the trees on the school grounds.

Stepping Stone Forests are small woodlands which are planted using native Irish species of trees and shrubs. The forests are planted very densely with three trees per square meter and absorb more than 30 times more carbon than grass lawns and they help to reduce global warming.

Thank you to Michael Finn who put together this video
