What a great weekend for Gonzaga in the National Aquatic Centre!
The Gonzaga team of two (Baltazar Allende, 1A, and Dan O’Mahony, 4A) represented the school with honours in both the Leinster schools senior gala and the Irish U17 waterpolo interprovincial cup.
Up first in the pool was 1st year flyer, Baltazar who took gold in both the 400m freestyle and the 200m Individual medley as well as silver in the 100m butterfly, all in the 13/14 age group.
Dan O’Mahony swam in the morning session (100m backstroke 17/19 age group) before swapping to the Waterpolo pool for the afternoon, playing for Leinster in the Irish U 17 interpro competition.
The Leinster team had two very physical matches but saw off both Connaught (6-4) and Ulster (10-5) to win the overall trophy.
Congratulations to the two boys and hopefully we will have more great results over future years.
