The Green Schools Committee are organising several activities for Climate Action Week this week.
All 2nd Years and TYs will attend screenings of the film '2040' in the Coulson Theatre. Thanks to the Environmental Education Unit of An Taisce for arranging these screenings.
During RE classes, all students will have the chance to do an Ecological Examen and/or an outdoor sensory prayer walk during one lesson this week. At morning worship, there will be a Laudato Si inspired Liturgy on Thursday 15 October and an Ecological Examen on the morning of Friday 16 October.
We will take a travel survey during roll call on Friday 16 October, and members of the Green Schools Committee will make short presentations to all junior students during the week on positive actions they can take at the moment e.g. get a reusable face mask instead of single use ones.
Last year at the Christmas Fair we distributed 500 native trees for students and their families to plant at home. To mark Climate Action Week, we'd like to see how your trees are settling in. If you'd like to share a photo of your tree, please email it to library@gonzaga.ie. and we'll create a gallery on this website. The attached collage shows two oaks, two alders and a willow that are all thriving in their new home in Kildare.
