The Lord Mayor of Dublin, James Geoghegan (2003) invited the Gonzaga College Choir to sing at the Christmas Concert held in the Mansion House on Sunday 8th December.
The choir sang a varied selection of pieces – Gaudete, The Sans Day Carol, God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen, and Mary, Mary, and gave an accomplished and polished performance.
On Monday, 9th December, the Gonzaga Orchestra and Trad Band guested at the Ranelagh Singers’ annual Christmas concert in the Church of the Holy Name, Beechwood Avenue. The trad band were joined two eminent guests; by Jim Lockhart of Horslips fame, and the sculptor, John Coll, and they played a couple of sets, earning a very well-deserved standing ovation.
The orchestra repeated this feat, with their spirited performance of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, and a new arrangement of We Three Kings.
Thanks to Ms O’Brien for her work in preparing for these two events, with more to come.
