Swimming News

On Sunday 13th October 2019, two Gonzaga swimming teams competed in the Leinster Schools’ Swimming Championships in the National Aquatic Centre. Both teams (Senior & Junior) were competing against some very accomplished schools, most of which would have swimmers competing and training regularly at club level.

The Gonzaga teams performed very well in both age groups, in both the 4 x 50m Medley Relay (Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly & Freestyle), and the 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay. Our Senior Team produced a very good result in both relays, finishing in 4th place in the medley relay and 6th place in the freestyle relay. Our Junior team, which comprised two first year and two second year students, finished 8th in the medley relay and 6th in the freestyle relay. Thank you to all the boys for representing the College impeccably.

A huge thank you again, to Charlotte Somers and Sandra Maguire for their continuing support and dedication to Gonzaga swimming; organizing and co-ordinating the teams and co-ordinating the boys on the day. Thank you also to all the other parents for their support on the day.
