Sixth Green Flag Awarded

Representatives of the Green Schools Committee attended a ceremony in DCU today at which we were presented with a sixth green flag for the school. The theme of this flag was Global Citizenship - Litter and Waste, and work included a global awareness survey, a nationalities survey and a waste audit. We carried out litter pick ups on the school grounds and sold water bottles and travel mugs to encourage students to avoid single-use plastics. We also continued working on previous themes such as biodiversity by planting a new native hedgerow and setting aside new wildlife areas on the school grounds. Anyone is welcome to get involved in Green Schools; talk to Ms McNamara in the Library for more details.
