1306 students participated in Round 1 of this year’s All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad. The top 100 students nationally qualify to take part in Round 2. This year five of the seven Gonzaga students who participated will take part in Round 2 in DIT on March 24. Congratulations to Padraig Sheehy (first in the country), Cormac Donnelly (26th nationally and again qualifying for Round 2), Ronan Kirby (36th), Rory Collins (82nd) and Henry Li (from First Year, 97th). The other two Gonzaga students, Patrick Ó Súilleabháin and Jacques Murphy, ranked 155th and 276th. Many thanks to Ms A. Nevin for co-ordinating AILO in Gonzaga.
